EKURHULENI CONTINUES TO RENDER WALK-IN LICENCE RENEWALS FOR PENSIONERS

The City continues to provide a dedicated weekly service to assist pensioners in renewing their driver’s licences without the need for online bookings, in a move aimed at improving access to municipal services for older residents.

Benoni DLTC Manager, Vincent Ditshego says that the initiative allows pensioners to visit any Driver’s Licence Testing Centre (DLTC) across the municipality on Wednesdays and receive priority assistance through a walk-in system.

“The programme is designed to remove barriers often experienced by elderly residents when navigating digital booking platforms, while also reducing waiting times at licensing facilities.

“To access the service, pensioners are required to visit a DLTC on a Wednesday with the necessary documentation, including their identity document, current driver’s licence, and any relevant medical certificates where applicable.

“We urge all eligible pensioners to take advantage of the initiative, saying it forms part of broader efforts to make essential public services more inclusive, accessible and responsive to the needs of vulnerable groups,” said Ditshego.
