LINDILE LEARNERS TAKE STEPS TOWARDS HIGHER EDUCATION

21 August 2026, Wesselton - We supported learners from Lindile Secondary School with their higher education applications on Thursday, 20 August 2026.

Led by Youth Officer Nhlanhla Slabbert, with support from school staff and municipal representatives, the programme provided learners with practical guidance as they prepared for life beyond Grade 12.

The initiative aimed to help them navigate the higher education application process, from identifying suitable study options and understanding admission requirements to completing online applications and submitting supporting documents.

The municipality also contributed R250 per learner towards application fees, helping to reduce financial barriers to applying.

"This initiative provides support at an important transition point for these youths, while encouraging them to make informed decisions about their education, career paths and future opportunities," said Slabbert.

Building on this intervention, the municipality is looking to extend similar support to other schools across Msukaligwa, helping more young people access opportunities beyond Grade 12.

Evidence of the municipality's commitment to a government that works for all and to ensuring that no young person is left behind in pursuing their aspirations.
