The City of Ekurhuleni’s Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) will host public hearings with city departments affected by findings by the Auditor-General’s (AG) 2024-2025 financial year report on Friday, 17 April 2026 in the council chamber at the O.R Tambo Government Precinct, Germiston.
In terms of the provisions of the Local Government Municipal Structures Act, MPAC serves as an oversight committee over the executive obligations of Council. The duties of MPAC are, among others, to review the Auditor-General’s report on the financial statements and responses thereto with a view to ensuring satisfactory responses and corrective action, where necessary.
The AG’s report was tabled during the city’s ordinary council meeting held on 26 March 2026.
