TITLE DEEDS HANDED OVER TO BENEFICIARIES

Fifty-one (51) beneficiaries from Extension 5 in Wesselton now have formal proof of ownership of their properties after their title deeds were registered.

The milestone was marked during a handover programme held at the Vivian Mangaliso Malinga Hall (1948) today, Friday, 11 September 2026.

The beneficiaries comprise 39 from Ward 3 and 12 from Ward 6. Executive Mayor Alderwoman M.P. Nkosi led the delegation, accompanied by Members of the Mayoral Committee, Municipal Manager Mr M. Kunene and municipal officials.

The handover was the culmination of a process facilitated by the municipality's Human Settlements and Property Management section.

Before the programme, the delegation conducted a door-to-door exercise in Extension 5, visiting beneficiaries at their homes to deliver title deeds.

During the programme, beneficiaries were encouraged to make a will to provide clear instructions on what happens to their property and other assets after their death.

Residents who have not yet received their registered title deeds are encouraged to visit the municipality to enquire about their status and availability for collection.
