The City of Tshwane has taken a further step towards improving water quality by temporarily isolating Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Plant. This allows teams to carry out thorough cleaning, maintenance and refurbishment to improve the plant's performance.
Several teams are working at the same time in different sections of the plant to complete the work as quickly as possible and to limit the time that the plant remains out of operation.
The work includes repairing and replacing pumps, motors and other essential equipment to help the plant operate more reliably and improve the water treatment process.
These interventions form part of the City's ongoing work with Rand Water to address water quality challenges and to restore a reliable supply of safe water to the affected communities.
