Customer service mobile truck reaches out to remote areas

The Long-standing Queries programme took to Mamelodi last week on Friday, 2 October 2026. The main aim of the programme is to assist residents with unresolved queries, specifically those that were logged between 2019 and 2023.

Residents in Mamelodi used this opportunity to engage with officials on their outstanding queries and to get resolutions.

The Customer Relations Management Mobile Truck, which is a recently added resource to strengthen the City's outreach to its communities in order to improve service delivery, made its debut in Region 6.

Instead of keeping services inside City buildings, the City brought services to the areas that residents call home. The truck works as a mobile service desk where residents can get help with municipal billing questions. They can also check their account balances, log service queries and request municipal forms.

City officials can provide general administrative support on site. This mobile setup is meant to improve customer experience across Tshwane. It also cuts down on the need to travel long distances to reach a service centre. With less travel, residents can get help faster and in a more convenient way.

The services rendered on the day focused on municipal accounts, late or missed payments, and access to municipal support services. There was a special focus on people who are the most vulnerable, such as senior citizens and those with limited income.
