The King Sabata Dalindyebo (KSD) Municipality, through the Office of the Speaker organised a Stakeholders Consultation Meeting to engage stakeholders on proposed policies and by-laws relating to Community Services and Technical Services.
The meeting held on Wednesday 2 September 2026 at Council Chambers, Mthatha Town Hall, brought together representatives from various sectors, including KSD Hawkers, local businesses, property owners, truck owners and Eagle Watchdogs Non-Profit Organisation (NPO).
Stakeholders welcomed the engagement and actively shared their views, concerns and recommendations on issues that need to be addressed to support the development of Mthatha and Mqanduli communities.
The discussions also emphasised the importance of restoring order and improving the appearance and functionality of KSD towns while ensuring that communities are not left behind. Residents, businesses and other stakeholders are an important part of the Municipality and must be included in decisions that affect them.
In her welcoming and opening remarks, KSD Speaker, Cllr N. Siyo-Sokutu, said the purpose of the meeting was to share information on the proposed policies and by-laws and to provide an opportunity for stakeholders and members of the public to raise their views, concerns and suggestions.
The Municipality values stakeholder participation and remains committed to engaging communities and relevant sectors in shaping policies and by-laws that respond to the needs of KSD.
