Midvaal Local Municipality, led by Executive Mayor Alderman Peter Teixeira, today attended the Soufflet Malt South Africa groundbreaking ceremony in Sedibeng. The Soufflet malting plant is set to strengthen the brewery and agro-processing value chain. This R2 billion investment into our region is a welcome and bold strategic step towards a future driven by innovation and anchored in technology. It represents a significant move towards economic growth, job creation, and long-term community development. The malting plant will also stimulate local businesses by sourcing materials and services from nearby suppliers, including both commercial and emerging farmers, thereby boosting economic activity in the area. This investment is a powerful catalyst to move Midvaal, which has a strong agricultural base, towards industrialisation. The Soufflet R2 billion investment is also a vote of confidence in our region, highlighting that we are open for business, supportive of innovation, and committed to inclusive economic growth. Our administration remains committed to creating a conducive environment that will attract investment and create opportunities for all.
