Midvaal Local Municipality is making progress with its accelerated War on Potholes campaign, aimed at addressing the road maintenance backlog across the municipality. The War on Potholes campaign, which was launched last week, aims to fast-track repairs, patch potholes, and restore Midvaal’s roads to pristine condition. In just one week, the Roads team repaired 460 potholes, covering a total area of 346.2m². This work was carried out across various areas, including Buycelia, Meyerton CBD, Meyerton Extension 4, Glen Donald, Meyerton Farms, and Riversdale. In addition, teams successfully graded several roads, including Tonbridge Road in Henley on Klip, Napoleon Road in Kliprivier, and De Wet Road in Buycelia. As promised, the Municipality has established a dedicated email address for residents to report road-related issues: waronpotholes@midvaal.gov.za A dedicated official has been assigned to monitor these reports and ensure they are escalated to the relevant departments for swift resolution. The teams will this week focus their work in Walkers Fruit Farms, concentrating on 1st Road, Meyerton Road, Cross Road, De Deur Road, Walker Road, Plantation Road, New Road, Central Road, Power Road, and Cider Road. Upon completion, the teams will move on to Meyerton Farms. Midvaal is putting words into action, working to ensure that our roads are safe, reliable, and fit for all road users.
